Description The counter rail is an extra rail which is mortised into the timber fence posts to provide a finishing top rail. The top of the feather edge boards are then nailed to the counter rail which stops the top of the boards moving over time and provides a stable and solid base for the Capping to be secured down onto. The capping will keep any rain getting into the top of the feather edge boards. We keep closeboard capping rails in stock.
