Description Cleft Chestnut Stakes are available to buy in a range of lengths from 4’6″ up to 8’0″ long. These stakes can be used to hold up stock fencing and other types of mesh fencing. Sweet chestnut being a Hardwood is more durable and naturally rot-resistant and sustainable and have a rustic apperance. Cleft chestnut stakes come in quarters, halfs and full rounds mixed in together. When they are cleft they split following the grain unevenly, this means they do not have a smooth flat face. Soi when you buy a ‘cleft’ stake, you are buying a product that has been split and divided rustically rather than sawn in a uniform fashion. This means that each stake from TATE Fencing will vary in diameter or thickness while being available in the set lengths.
