Description Cleft chestnut post and rail fencing on softwood posts is a combination of a rustic hardwood chestnut rail and a uniform softwood post. So you get the look of rustic agricultural fencing but still a clean finish due to the sharp square posts. As standard the post come with a flat top however we have a selection of post tops available. Cleft chestnut post and rail fencing is available in two bay lengths 1.83m (6′) and 2.74m (9′). Ordering one bay would give you one softwood post and two chestnut rails. This type of fencing can also some times be referred to as Sussex fencing. Also available in a 3 rail option
